"Deep" Thought #17: A Shot at Modesty With Tila Tequila

Recently, Tila Tequila of MTV reality show fame modestly decided that she is to thank for the recent legalization of same-sex marriage in California.

For those not familiar with Ms. Tequila, she is the bisexual star of her own reality dating show where a gaggle of male and female contestants leave their dignities at the door, convince themselves that they have fallen in love with a stranger, and compete for the short-lived affections of a woman who is famous for being famous on Myspace.

In a recent US Weekly, Ms. Tequila said the following with respect to the California court's marriage ruling:

"It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement. Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships].
Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."

Now, I read the court's opinion pretty thoroughly, and I don't remember the court's reasoning including any references to A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila. But to be fair, the opinion included lots of citations, so I'm sure it's in there somewhere.

Thanks bunches Tila Tequila. What's next on the agenda? World peace? A cure for cancer?

Deep thoughts.
