Rush Limbaugh is Un-American

Regarding the potential "dream ticket" of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, Rush Limbaugh recently said the following. (And, because you can't read emotion in a transcript, when I watched him say this, I must say that Limbaugh was both laughing and proud when he said these words):

"Let's say it is Obama and Hillary…Let's put Hillary at the top — That's a position she's familiar with," Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday. "Therefore, you've got a woman and a black for the first time ever on the Democrat ticket. Ahem. [Insert Rush's laughter]. They don't have a prayer."

Ah ha ha ha! What a hi-larious joke that a woman and a black person would think they could be president!

I mean, he's pretty much saying that contrary to what we all grew up believing as children, we really can't be anything we want to do be regardless of race or gender. What he said on national radio is that the American Dream doesn't exist for black people and women. And worse, that's something that he, a powerful rich white man, can laugh at and mock. That's something that his largely white audience can laugh at and mock. That's something that the angry white men who yell at their televisions and hate "Shillary" and "Barack Hussein Obama" can laugh at and mock. Because if they have nothing else going for them in their lives, at least they have their whiteness, and some of them have their male-ness. American values indeed.

Thank you, Rush Limbaugh, for being a perpetual un-American strong-woman-loathing hypocritical Debbie Downer.
